Sepsis nurse vows return

-

A NURSE who lost her legs and fingers to sepsis has vowed to get back to work.

Karen Allen- Ross, 54, had a 15-month fight with the condition and has been fitted with prosthetic legs.

She said: “I’m stronger than I ever thought I was. Nothing will stop me.

“I have a lot of years left. I’ve learned to live for each day and live life to the full.”

Karen, who learned to write again after being left with her thumbs and half of a forefinger, now hopes to rejoin staff at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
