BBC to gift us new Bagpuss
THE BBC could give Bagpuss fans a Christmas special – the first new outing for the children’s TV favourite in 45 years.
Animator Daniel Postgate, 55, son of creator Oliver, said he is in talks.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror at BAFTA, he said: “I went to them the other day to discuss doing a Bagpuss at Christmas.
“I’ve written the script – a 45-minute version.”
Daniel brought his late dad’s classic The Clangers back to the Beeb in 2015.
Bag pu ss had a 13-episode run in 1974.
