After his next fight, in LA against an as-yet unnamed opponent on November 9, he is looking for the big one against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Next month’s fight features on the undercard of KSI-Logan Paul II, the second meeting of the YouTube stars that is set to do huge numbers in terms of pay-per-views.

Saunders’ fight is likely to be aired for free in the US to raise his profile.

Saunders (above) said: “I wouldn’t say this is about me wanting ‘redemption’, it’s just about me wanting to be a role model for kids.

“I began thinking about some things I had done and realised I’d got to

stop doing them. I’ve made plenty of mistakes... but now I want to put my name out there for the right reasons. “I want the big fights now — ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin, Danny Jacobs, Callum Smith… “Canelo is the one I really want. I’ve believed for years that one day I will fight him... and I know I can beat him as well.”
