Michael Smith and Clark Roberston ended the Seasiders’ fourgame unbeaten run.

Dutchman Armand Gnanduillet pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 99th minute but it was a frustrating day for Simon Grayson’s men. “The players put their bodies on the line,” said Warne.

“We defended really well, but we can play better. We’ve had three wins in a week – it’s Disney stuff.

“But we weren’t at our best, we’ll play better than that. The scoreline flattered us a little bit, so I’m not getting too carried away and that all of a sudden we’re a great team.”

The Millers were forced to make a late change to their starting side with Joe Mattock injured in the warm-up and Robertson brought in to replace him at left-back.

And the visitors were a little at sea when Matty Virtue had the first chance of the contest. Luckily the winger saw his left-foot shot turned away for a corner by alert keeper Daniel Iversen. Midfielder Matt Crooks had a powerful shot charged down on the edge of the box as the Millers looked to silence the hosts with an early goal.

Dan Barlaser headed on to the top of the bar from a Crooks cross but the visitors failed to create a clearcut chance in the first half.

But it was the Yorkshire outfit who took the lead six minutes after the restart through Smith.

Barlaser’s free-kick was headed back across the face of goal by Robertson and giant striker Smith poked home in the 51st minute.

Curtis Tilt thought he had equalised for the Seasiders two minutes later, but his headed goal was rightly ruled out after he flattened Iversen.

And Warne’s battlers dug deep with Robertson striking in the 87th minute against his old club.

Even though Tilt won the late penalty, the Millers held out to claim successive league wins. BLACKPOOL:
