LONGEST-SERVING LAG COULD BE FREED SOON
MP fights to let him rot in jail
ONE of Britain’s worst serial killers could soon be released from jail – despite an MP’s bid to keep him locked up.
Patrick Mackay, the country’s longest- serving lag, may win parole but Dartford Tory MP Gareth Johnson fears he will return to his old home and has asked police to reopen the case.
Mackay, 67, was jailed 44 years ago for strangling two old ladies and butchering a Roman Catholic priest with an axe. Two further suspected killings – a shopkeeper and a 73-year-old woman – were left on file as detectives then felt they had enough to put him away forever.
But once caged for life for manslaughter with diminished responsibility, Mackay began boasting to fellow inmates of three more victims.
He claimed knifing to death a teenage nanny on a train and NEW face of Calvin Klein Richard Madden starts filming a perfume ad – and looks Madden-ingly familiar to another hot property.

Yet the Nazi-loving psychopath denied the confessions when questioned by police.
Now a parole board will this week decide whether Mackay – whose victims lived in and around London – is safe to be freed after being moved to an open prison two years ago.
Dartford MP Mr Johnson asked police to look again at the killings Mackay admitted but his request for cold case reviews was refused.
Justice minister Lucy Frazer told him: “The Metropolitan Police and Essex Police are not re-investigating the historic allegations at this time.”
Mr Johnson said: “It’s bitterly disappointing. I believe Mackay remains highly dangerous.
“He’s one of Britain’s most prolific killers and should die behind bars.”
