TRISHA GODDARD

- BY JANINE YAQOOB TV Editor

TRISHA Goddard says her mystery boyfriend has made her feel sexy again after having breast cancer.

And the 62-year-old chat show queen says she may even be open to a fourth wedding, despite having felt ashamed at her string of failed relationships.

But she is keeping her American love’s identity a secret, even though they have been dating for two years.

Quirkily, the mum-of-two refers to him only as “hashtag Boo” – but revealed he is the first man to have taken her out for a meal or bought her a ring.

Trisha is one of the 12 celebrities lacing their skates for ITV’s new series of Dancing on Ice, which starts tonight.

And although she is the oldest of the group, she insists she will give the youngsters a run for their money.

Trisha said: “I might be the oldest in the competition but I’m the fittest, apart from Perri Kiely.

“I thought, ‘Oh my god, these kids are so much younger’. But when you’re young you smoke, you drink, you stay up late. It takes a toll.”

STRONG

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, and said: “Physically, I’m very strong. Fitness postbreast cancer got me through.

“I know how important it is for my body and mind.”

The telly host suffered depression in the 1990s, even attempting to take her own life.

But she says running, weights and resistance bands help to keep the dark thoughts in check.

“If I haven’t run for a few days I start feeling like I’m losing control.

“Feeling the rain, wind and sun in my face is so special. It got me through my treatment.”

And it has made her love her body again – and feel comfortable getting intimate with her new boyfriend.

She said: “I was very wary, having gone through breast cancer, about opening up to someone. I’m not ashamed of my body but you become aware of the changes.

“I wear a pressure sleeve – it ain’t the sexiest thing. You go into a new relationship and think, ‘Oh no…’ But #Boo lost his first wife to breast cancer. Here’s somebody where I don’t even have to finish the sentence. It’s more than the physical, it’s the mental side too. I couldn’t talk with my ex because he was so traumatised by it.

“As a woman at the centre of a family you think if you appear weak the whole family will fall down.

“#Boo completely got it. He makes me feel sexy. If I’m coming down the stairs he tells me how beautiful I look. He buys me gorgeous clothes and can’t wait to see

me in them.” Trisha met her beau through a US friend where she now lives, in Connecticut. She said: “#Boo was going through a divorce too. We didn’t expect to meet – we were sat at the same table.

“We laughed all night, that was two years ago. This is the first time I’ve had a partner that earns more than me, it’s a novelty.

“And I rather like it. He’ll wine and dine me. Can you believe, I had to wait until I was 60 to be bought a meal?

“He bought me a Tiffany ring, it’s the first ring a man has ever bought me.”

The cancer battle put huge pressure
