The soap favourite says he’s burnt out after a busy 2019 – and is planning his retirement.
Danny, 42, who plays Mick Carter in BBC One’s EastEnders, admits he and wife Joanne are planning a spiritual trip across the globe in their fifties.
“2020º is a big year – I’m going to take my foot off the pedal slightly,” he says. “I did a lot last year and I burnt myself out a little bit.”
Danny proved a ratings hit with his new TV game show The Wall. He also appeared in BBC documentary Danny’s Right Royal Family after he discovered he had links to the monarchy.
And in light of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving the Royal Family, he offered to fill in for them, saying: “I descend from royalty, so why not?”

“We are going to retire when our kids are old enough,” says Danny. “In 10 years hopefully. I would have been working all that time and then I’m going to take a step back and get my life back. We want to go to India and Cuba. We want to do it all.”
