Tourism boss quits over hol

IRELAND’S tourism board chief has quit after taking a holiday to Italy.

Michael Cawley’s trip came despite government advice to avoid travelling abroad due to Covid-19.

Failte Ireland chairman Mr Cawley said: “I have no wish to allow this to become a distraction from the important work of rebuilding Irish tourism.”
