Motorist rail crash escape

A CAR driver has survived being hit by a train.

The driver was treated by paramedics after being rescued by firefighte­rs.

Nine passengers on the train which collided with the car in Johnstone, Renfrewshi­re, about 6am yesterday, were uninjured.

Police Scotland said there are not thought to be any life-threatenin­g injuries as a result of the crash.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent nine crews to the scene who helped the passengers.
