Crafty Brits start to make do and mend
LOCKDOWN has transformed Brits from shopaholics to make-do-andmenders, research shows.
Almost 80 per cent said they have been making more things for the home over the restricted period. And 97 per cent plan to keep on doing so, rather than buying new stuff.
More than half aim to carry on producing their own cards and gifts, top cutting machine maker Cricut found in a poll.
And four- fifths will continue to make home furnishings like cushion covers. Craft trends expert Kathy Hodson said: “This approach is a positive legacy from lockdown.”
