MAVERICK VINALES is eyeing his first win this year in today’s Austrian MotoGP after surging to a shock pole at the Red Bull Ring.

The Monster Energy Yamaha rider (above) beat Pramac Ducati’s Jack Miller to the top spot by 0.068secs.

Spaniard Vinales, 25, said: “My objective was to be on the front row. But suddenly I felt an incredible feeling and we made a really big improvement since Friday.”
