Disney wants happy ending

WELSH Champions Connah’s Quay Nomads are aiming for a classic Disney remake next week – one that ends in a Champions League fairytale.

When defender John Disney played in the club’s first European adventure four years ago, he was sent off in a Europa League tie – although he wasn’t even on the pitch.

Now, as the Nomads host FK Sarajevo in the first qualifying round of the 2020-21 CL on Wednesday night, Disney (right) wants a different script.

“We were playing Stabaek in Norway and were 1-0 up when I got booked, so the boss brought me off, to be on the safe side,” said Disney.

“I went for a warm-down in the corner in my training bib and the next thing I knew the ref was showing me the red card. That’s the rule. But it will be a proud moment for us this time.”
