‘Sevilla showed me way’
EUROPA LEAGUE kings Sevilla taught Ole Gunnar Solskjaer an early lesson as boss.
The Spanish club were a big source of inspiration for him when he was a young manager making his mark at Molde.
A 3-1 aggregate loss to Sevilla in 2016 prompted the Norwegian to look more closely at how the club had been built to win a record five Europa League trophies in a decade.
Solskjaer is now working along similar lines as he looks to reshape a United philosophy that crumbled after Sir Alex Ferguson (above) retired.
Solskjaer said: “After we lost to Sevilla when I was at Molde, both myself and the club secretary kept in touch.
“Sevilla have always been up there after finding a sustainable way of running the club. You need a lasting club philosophy to get young players through.”
