Random act of kindness

Very sad to read about broadcaster James Whale this week, who has been diagnosed with spine, brain and kidney cancer.

I met James when we both did Celebrity Big Brother, then I worked with him on Talk Radio. He had to deal with cancer 20 years ago too and had one of his kidneys removed as a result.

Brave James said we’re all going to get to a stage where our health isn’t at its peak and we “just have to deal with it”.

One thing about James is that he is not one to feel sorry for himself.

Still, he was touched this week when a black cab driver took him to hospital but refused to let him pay.

It’s little acts of kindness like this that mean so much when life deals you a bad hand.
