Sheikh-up will pay off

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN’S arrival in today’s Champions League Final might not, on the face of it, look a particular positive for Manchester City, but it is.

Because it’s a reminder to all those in the corridors of power at the Etihad that if you throw enough money at something then, eventually, you will get what you want.

Whether or not Pep Guardiola will be the manager who ultimately leads them to their holy grail, we’ll have to wait and see.

But providing owner Sheikh Mansour (above, with Guardiola) continues his ownership of the club, then his finances will dictate that City will get there, and sooner rather than later.
