Gunners on target for Gabby
ARSENAL are on the verge of clinching a £27million deal for
Lille defender Gabriel – with the Brazilian desperate to head to the Emirates.
Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli had all entered the scrap for Gabriel’s signature.
But the centre-half’s desire to play for the Gunners – and link up with a number of fellow countrymen already in N5 – is proving decisive in the outcome.
Arsenal have David Luiz, Gabriel Martinelli and new free signing Willian among their first-team ranks for next term.
And that trio of Brazilians is set to become a quartet early this week with the arrival of Gabriel, 22, who has also been interesting Everton.
A source close to the player confirmed his heart is set on joining Mikel Arteta’s FA Cup winners, saying: “It is Gabriel’s dream to play in the Premier League – for Arsenal.”
Barcelona want Manchester City outcast Angelino in a £25million deal. The Spaniard spend the second half of last season on loan at RB Leipzig.
