NOT A ’LOTTI FOR TOFFEES
CARLO ANCELOTTI is growing agitated with Everton’s nonexistent transfer activity.
Spurs beat the Toffees in the race to sign £25million Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
And there is no chance of Lille’s £27m-rated Brazilian centre-half Gabriel arriving at Goodison Park.
Everton’s failure to secure two of his hand-picked, long-time targets has left boss Ancelotti infuriated.
And unless the Merseysiders start getting busy in the market soon, there are fears about the manager’s future.
The appointment of the Italian supercoach last December was seen as a huge coup for the Everton hierarchy.
But they only secured his services on the assurance he would get significant funds to overhaul the squad now.
That has not materialised and one source inside the club fears the worst if they continue to miss out on players.
The Everton insider warned: “There could be chaos here.
“Ancelotti would not have taken the job without the promise of new players.”
