6 IN 10 TELL PM TO SLAM ON A CIRCUIT BREAK
Call to drop Tiers & go for national lockdown
SIX in ten voters want a two-week national circuit-breaker instead of Tier 3 local lockdowns paralysing the North, as anger grows over Boris Johnson’s pandemic failings.
An exclusive Sunday Mirror poll shows 62 per cent of people in highinfection areas in the North West and North East are in favour of the idea.
Surprisingly, support is up to 64 per cent in lower-risk areas such as the South West and the South East.
And 55 per cent would back a circuit-breaker even if it had to be done again – though the PM blames fears of a repeat for not wanting one.
The survey also found:
■ Seven in ten say he has failed to set up an effective test and trace system
Six in ten say Boris Johnson has failed to keep the country together
Half say he failed to provide the NHS with enough protective gear
Four in ten say he has failed to protect the country’s economy
And nearly half say he has failed to look after the most vulnerable groups

And one in seven said they would enjoy Christmas festivities outdoors.
One in three of the 3,000 adults surveyed by Redfield & Wilton Strategies think a vaccine will not be available until next summer at the earliest.
But more than six in ten say they will take the jab when it is.

SAGE chairman Sir David King today warns Boris Johnson only a national lockdown from now until December 15 can “save Christmas”.
