Bargain for you, boost for them

- NIGEL THOMPSON

Coronavirus has been devastating for Britain’s high street travel agents – but they are picking up the pieces ready to make 2021 a great year for getaways.

Now the public are being urged to turn their armchair travel dreams into reality and support the trade by taking advantage of numerous special discounts and offers in a new Holiday To Help Out campaign.

The message is “Don’t just dream, book” your 2021 trip with a local travel agent – they are the nation’s holiday experts, so you’ll get top advice, a great deal and help to boost the pandemichammered sector.

Holiday To Help Out deals will be released during the week of November 2-8 and the campaign has been launched by Travel Trade Gazette, the world’s oldest travel trade newspaper.

Offers will be showcased in store windows, on social media, in newsletters and more, and leading firms supporting the initiative range from Inghams, Explore and Citalia, to Celebrity Cruises, Emerald Cruises and Red Sea Holidays.

Agents can be contacted where shops are open (with Covid-19 safety measures in place) or you can Zoom, email or chat over the phone.

Travel Trade Gazette editor Sophie Griffiths said: “Inspired by the Chancellor’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme, we hope the Holiday To Help Out initiative will create similar excitement about travel and prompt customers to go and talk to their local travel agent about booking the holiday of their dreams.”
