Romero’s D-day for Ole talks
SERGIO ROMERO wants showdown talks with Manchester United this week over his treatment.
The 33-year-old is seething after discovering on social media that he had been axed from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s
Premier League squad.
The Argentine goalkeeper has found himself fourth-choice keeper behind David de Gea, Dean Henderson and even Lee Grant.
A move to Everton collapsed when United refused to budge on their £10million asking price.
The former Sampdoria star could now be forced to sit on his backside until the next transfer window, costing United almost £1million in wages.
He is said to be “baffled and angry” and is hoping to leave on a free transfer in return for him agreeing to terminate his £100,000a-week deal.
Romero has been self-isolating following his return to Manchester from Argentina, but is expected back at Carrington this week when he will seek urgent talks with manager Solskjaer and United supremo Ed Woodward.
