GRAHAM COUGHLAN described Mansfield’s draw as a fine advert for the division. “I thought we saw two good teams and it was a good advert for League Two football,” Coughlan said.

“We dominated the first half and they shaded the second.

“Cheltenham will be up there at the end of the season and on another day we could’ve won it late on. We just have to show a little more composure.”

Robins boss Michael Duff was pleased with his side’s second-half improvement.

“If we’d played another 10 minutes we’d have scored because they were rocking at the end,” he said. “It’s a filthy day and I was disappointed with the first half.”

MICHAEL FLYNN will not get overconfident after Newport went top. Mickey Demetriou, Padraig Amond and a Matty Dolan penalty secured the points for the Exiles.

Flynn said: “This win completes a fantastic week. We have taken six points without conceding a goal.

“It is a massive return. It is our best start to a season and this was a fantastic win, but I am not getting carried away.”

Bradford boss Stuart McCall said: “It was a tough afternoon against a good team.

“They defended really well, but we have to do better in the final third.”
