Exeter 3 Scunthorpe 1 Tranmere 2 Southend 0
MATT TAYLOR felt his Exeter side made life difficult for themselves.
Joel Randall and Matt Jay put the Grecians in control before Jai Rowe pulled one back and Jake Taylor wrapped it up.
“It was a strange game,” Taylor said.
“I just think we lost our way, got edgy and then a few nerves seemed to kick in with some of the lads.”
Scunthorpe goalkeeping coach Paul Musselwhite, in charge for the game after a coronavirus outbreak at the club, said: “The gaffer was pleased with the performance.”
MARK MOLESLEY has called on his Southend United side to stand up and be counted.
“We have got to be better because conceding is our downfall,” he said.
Peter Clarke headed Tranmere in front midway through the first period, before James Vaughan sealed the win early in the second. Rovers boss Mike Jackson said:
“I’m delighted for the group, because they needed that win.”
