Dunny’s Hairdryer

TROY DEENEY will probably prove to be a good addition to the talkSPORT ranks, but quite where the idea Harry Kane does not get the credit he deserves comes from is anyone’s guess.

According to Deeney, Kane is under-acclaimed because he is British.

“The ‘world class’ debate is interesting,” said Deeney. “Because, unless your name is foreign, you don’t get put into that category as world class.”

Deeney then went on to say, indignantly, that “they always put people above him… Lewandowski, Benzema”.

That is maybe because Robert Lewandowski has eight Bundesliga titles and a Champions League to his name, while Karim Benzema has four French titles, three La Ligas and four Champions Leagues.

And that may be why they are spoken of ahead of Kane.

Not, despite what Deeney says, because they have very foreign names.
