Beeb’s silence over virtues
The BBC has banned its staff from “virtue signalling”.
This is the strange phrase that has become an insult, meaning you’re making it look as if you’re doing something virtuous.
It’s time we stopped this sickening habit of looking like we’re helping people. For example, if Sir David Attenborough is seen giving a homeless person 50p, he should be sacked.
It would be a disgusting display of virtue signalling.
But if he can prove he was about to tip the poor sod’s sleeping bag in the river and kick him in the arse, as light relief from worrying about polar bears, that would be fine.
Kim Kardashian announced that she, Kanye West and their friends have done what anyone does to evade the stress of coronavirus… and retreated to a private island.
This shows they have a much more efficient app in the US that says: “You have been exposed to Covid-19, you must immediately fly to a Caribbean island on a golden helicopter to carry on being out of touch with reality.”
