Most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?

A full-crotch trouser split at a gig once… I had to spend the rest of it leaving little to the imagination.

Your funniest celebrity encounter?

I once met Noel Gallagher at a Brits after-party – he was my hero growing up. I asked if I could have a pic, he said yes… if I gave him a cigarette (I don’t smoke). He got pretty annoyed that I wouldn’t give him a non-existent cigarette – so the photo ended up as just him looking rather annoyed!

The most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?

The bar tab at my local.

Heroes. And now Bush singer and guitarist Gavin has collaborated with Bowie’s pianist Mike Garson on a stripped-back rendition of the hit.

The track is to be released on a new deluxe edition of Bush’s album The Kingdom.

Gavin says: “David was a huge inspiration, a friend, and is much missed. So this was a great thrill.

“The fact we have a Bowie composition with Mike Garson on a Bush record blows my mind.”

Very cool.
