Lineker: BBC trusts in me

GARY Lineker has de­fended air­ing his views on so­cial me­dia and says BBC bosses are “per­fectly happy” with his con­duct.

The Match of the Day pre­sen­ter spoke af­ter new im­par­tial­ity guide­lines came out on Thurs­day.

Lineker, 59, who posts about top­ics in­clud­ing Brexit, racism and coro­n­avirus, said the BBC trusted him to post ap­pro­pri­ately.

He said of Beeb boss Tim Davie: “I think he’s per­fectly happy with the way I go about my so­cial me­dia... the BBC trusts me to do the right things.”
