I had the pleasure of meeting charming and wise Ify Adenuga, mother of Mercury awardwinning rapper Skepta.

Her other children are Jamie, another successful rapper, Jason, a talented illustrator and music producer, and Julie, one of the most influential people in Forbes’ 30 under 30 list.

Humble Ify arrived in London from Nigeria in 1980 in search of a better life.

She met her husband in a bingo hall and they settled in

Tottenham to raise their family just a year after the infamous Broadwater Farm riots.

Ify says: “We had moved into one of the most rundown communities in the borough.”

So how did she bring up four kids and nurture them into the powerhouses they are today?

She says: “We work as a team and we are big on trust... I perfected the stroke as I swam and learned from my children.”

Ify has documented her life in a book called Endless Fortune.

I can’t wait to start turning the pages to get some tips on how to raise supersuccessful kids.
