Ronnie is Raven for Balti-more
RONNIE STANLEY has a hundred million reasons to stay in Baltimore and now he wants to reward the club with a Super Bowl.
The Ravens’ left tackle signed a five-year extension this week worth $98.75million. He will earn a whopping $47.116m between now and March 31 next year.
The 6ft6ins, 23-stone behemoth is responsible for protecting superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.
He is represented by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, who also take care of Marcus Rashford and Kevin de Bruyne, and the 26-year-old football fan, who went to the World Cup in Russia as a spectator, says he is delighted the negotiations are done.
“I was happy to see all the work and dedication pay off,” said Stanley. “Everything that my family sacrificed over the years so that I could come here and live my dream.
“My parents were excited to get the news. They were the first people I told and they were very proud.
“One of my main reasons for wanting to stay here is that I want to play with these guys because they are like family to me.
“I’m happy that I can try to help this team achieve our ultimate goal of winning Super Bowls.”
Stanley can start to pay back some of that money tonight when the Ravens host arch-rivals Pittsburgh, with the Steelers the only unbeaten team left in the league going into week eight of the season.
