...on Arteta’s axing of Ozil

“THE way things are going it looks like Mesut Ozil (below) won’t play another game for Arsenal and that’s a shame and waste of a footballing talent.

“Maybe that is down to Pep Guardiola and his influence on Mikel Arteta’s managerial and coaching career.

“Look at the way Manchester City press and get the ball back quickly. Maybe Arteta doesn’t want players who won’t do that and maybe Ozil hasn’t got that work ethic.

“For me, it’s impossible to be German Footballer of the Year five times and play so many games in a top international team like Germany and suddenly you can’t fit in at a club like Arsenal. I think you have to make a position for Ozil so that he does fit in.”
