Tanguage barrier!

- TOM HOPKINSON

TANGUY NDOMBELE has hailed the impact Gareth Bale’s words of wisdom are having on Tottenham’s dressing room — even though he can barely understand a single word the Welshman is saying.

Four-time Champions League winner Bale re-signed for Spurs on loan from Real Madrid five weeks ago. And while he has only made a handful of appearances since recovering from injury, he is contributing big-time for Tottenham.

Ndombele said: “I haven’t spoken an awful lot with

Gareth because my

English still isn’t great. But you can see he’s a really great guy and he’s certainly trying to speak with everybody.

“It has helped for the team to have someone with his experience, having played at Real Madrid and won Champions Leagues.

“So it’s great to have him here and I hope he’s going to start really helping the team right away.”

Bale (left) couldn’t help Spurs to victory over Royal Antwerp on Thursday in the

Europa League as the north Londoners crashed to an embarrassing 1-0 defeat.

Ndombele wasn’t involved in midweek but expects to be back for today’s clash with Brighton as Tottenham look to improve on a run of three wins and two draws in the Premier League since their opening-day defeat by Everton.

He added: “Of course, we always want to win matches. We’re trying to put aside those points we dropped against West Ham.

“Last weekend, we picked up three good points against Burnley.”
