Rashford’s ‘great’ chat with PM over hungry kids’ meals
FOOTBALL hero Marcus Rashford held talks with Boris Johnson last night about providing meals for hungry kids.
The England ace spoke to the PM after Tory MPs rejected calls to extend free meals over the school holidays.
When it was voted down dozens of hard-hit restaurants, bars and cafes contacted Rashford to help. Following yesterday’s chat
Rashford tweeted: “Just had a great conversation with the Prime Minister, now is the time for collaboration.”
His campaign to end child food poverty calls for free school meals to be given to 1.4 million more UK children and charity-led holiday hunger schemes expanded.
The Government has already U- turned once when they allowed children to claim free school meal vouchers over the six-week summer holidays.
