On-fire Rob sets up Leroy winner
Borussia Dortmund Bayern Munich 3
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI was once again in the goals to help Bayern Munich steal a march on rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga title race.
Lewandowski took his tally to 11 league goals this season as the Bavarians came from behind to win a five- goal thriller at Signal Iduna Park.
Bayern are back on top, two points ahead of RB Leipzig with Dortmund now lying in third place.
It was a mixed night for Lewandowski, who also had two goals disallowed for
offside, before heading Bayern into the lead.
The 32-year-old thought he had given the German champions the lead but his smart finish was ruled out for a marginal offside by VAR.
Marco Reus then put Dortmund in front after meeting Raphael Guerreiro’s cross just before the break.
But David Alaba quickly levelled from a cleverlyworked free-kick in first-half stoppage time.
Serge Gnabry played it short to Thomas Muller who stopped the ball and Austrian star Alaba fired in from 20 yards out.
And Bayern were in front when Lewandowski beat Mats Hummels to a Lucas Hernandez cross just three minutes after the restart.
As Dortmund pushed forward for a way back in the game, Bayern hit their opponents on the counterattack late on as Leroy Sane curled home after linking up with Lewandowski.
Erling Haaland set up a grandstand finish after good work again from Guerreiro.
There was still time for Lewandowski to be denied a second goal in injury-time due to another offside after his shot had taken a big deflection off Jude Bellingham and looped up into the top corner.
