Bren’s out on moan

- By NEIL MOXLEY

BRENDAN RODGERS is refusing to moan about any fixture pile-up – and has told his team to be ready for anything.

While Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has complained about the schedule, the Leicester City chief believes it is just par for the course.

The Foxes have 10 matches in the next five weeks, including their Europa League commitments, and are bracing themselves for a difficult period.

Rodgers has been boosted by the return to training of long-term absentees Ricardo Pereira, Wilfred Ndidi and Caglar Soyuncu. But he won’t be joining the chorus of disapproval towards the heavy workload. He said: “It’s going to be no different – there’s going to be lots of games. There’s eight or nine in December.

“Those close together are going to be a tough ask – as they always are.

“The players have known since the start of the season that we have to be ready every day – we talked about it.

“With European football we have to recover well and adapt – we are really enjoying that, by the way – then you know you have got to be ready physically and mentally and be right on it in the league.

“You can never say that because it’s going well in Europe that you can never be anything less than 100 per cent and we will be ready for Fulham.”

Rodgers was part of Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff at Chelsea when Cottagers chief Scott Parker was on the playing staff.

“I wasn’t surprised Scott moved into coaching and the job he’s done at Fulham has been first-class,” he said.
