Warnock is left pig sick
FURIOUS Neil Warnock slammed Stoke for putting his Middlesbrough team in a “pig sty”.
Warnock was furious and has taken pictures of the conditions to show Boro owner Steve Gibson.
“We were in Portakabins,” fumed Boro boss Warnock.
“I’ll buy ‘em a Portakabin to get changed in when Stoke come up to us.”
Warnock also had to be kept away by security from ref Jeremy Simpson at the end of a fiery game that saw Nathan Collins grab the early Stoke winner – but finished with three players injured.
The storming Middlesbrough boss played down his chat, saying managers are not allowed to talk to officials in the dressing room now and he was merely having his conversation on the pitch.
But it looked far more confrontational than that – but not as red raw as his attack on Stoke.
Warnock fumed: “We got changed in a pig sty. The pigs would have run away from our dressing room.
“You can’t tell me that was social distancing, we’re so close together in a Portakabin, surely we’d be better in a dressing room.
“We give them everything at Middlesbrough.
“Our toilets didn’t work here, they’re blocked.
“There were fumes coming in, we had to get security out.
“We had to ask why they didn’t look at it before we arrived. That was a bloody disgrace, the showers are leaking, there’s water all over the floor.
“I didn’t want to say anything before the game because we didn’t want to make excuses.
“There’s no way they’ll get a dressing room when they come to our place.
“I’ll hire a Portakabin if they want.
“My dressing room was another Portakabin, 20 yards down the road.
“It’s all out of order.”
Stoke moved up to fifth, two points behind second placed Bournemouth, but are struggling to put a team out for Tuesday’s game at home to Cardiff.
Sam Clucas, Danny Batth and Nick Powell all added to a six-man injury list.
Collins’ 19th-minute header won it for Stoke and manager Michael O’Neill said: “Were the challenges malicious and meriting any more than a yellow card? I don’t think they were, but I haven’t seen them back.
“Both teams were competitive we just came out the wrong side of it.”
