While there is enormous interest in nephew Prince Harry and wife Meghan’s £30million Spotify podcast deal, Duchess of York Sarah has generated just a few thousand hits with her festive YouTube clips.
Fergie, 61, wears a floral headband and crouches at a festive scene as she instructs kids on craftwork.
But things don’t go well and user comments have been switched off – so no one can post jokey barbs.
sees her turning a jam jar into a kids’ snow globe. It has 1,900 views and 56 l ikes. Fergie is surrounded by characters from her Little Red book series. She refers to a doll as Snowy then blurts: “I mean Roany.”
She tells kids to “get some superglue”, which many shops sell only to over-18s.
Then she belatedly warns: “But be careful. Mummy and Daddy might have to help as it might get caught and you don’t want it on your fingers, you have to be so careful. Mummy
and Daddy might just have to do this bit for you.” As she sticks a snowman on a jam-jar lid she laughs and says he’s on an “icing rink” – meaning ice rink.
CLIP TWO has the duchess making a fir tree using a paper cup covered in cotton wool. She sings We Three Kings but forgets the words and mumbles incoherently. The video has had 2,500 hits and 58 likes.
CLIP THREE – seen 700 times – includes a tutorial for “stained- glass” biscuit ornaments in which she again gets muddled. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife says: “We are making... what are they called? Stained glass windows... stained glass window, delicious ornaments.”
It’s back to the snow globe but Fergie forgets to glue the jar before rolling it in glitter – as a pal dressed as an elf plays a guitar. It’s had 400 views. Through it all, Fergie at least is able to laugh at her gaffes. And it’s not all bad news.
She has 7,000 subscribers and her Storytime with Fergie and Friends channel has had a total of 897,866 views since launch.
