HIGH-SPEED TYREEK: I’M PROUD TO STILL HAVE L-PLATES

- KEITH WEBSTER

Today, 11.40pm, Sky Sports Main Event ATHLETES don’t come much faster than Tyreek Hill, the wide receiver once edged out in a junior world championship 100m final by Team GB multi-medallist Adam Gemili.

In spite of his tag of ‘fastest man in the NFL’ however, Hill reckons he has harnessed it to a growing knowledge that makes him not only the quickest but the most dangerous receiver in the league.

Last season, his blazing speed and talented hands helped carry Kansas City to a Super Bowl triumph in Miami.

Victory tonight in the AFC Championship Game against Buffalo will give him a chance to win a second Super Bowl ring and prove he is on course to be one of the all-time greats.

And according to Hill (left), who has a reputation for flash jewellery and a mouth even faster than his feet, it is because he has been humble enough to take advice. Hill said: “I’ve always been the smallest guy on every team but I’ve always had the most heart.

“With that, I’m always going to outplay my height.

“The one thing I’m really proud of is being able to learn from different guys, being able to take coaching and being a student of the game of football.

“When you come into the league you are going to think you are hot s**t and you automatically think you’re the man. So most guys don’t take what’s given to them [in terms of education].

“That’s what I am appreciative of, being able to learn from different minds and hear different perspectives.

“Not one coach is going to be able to give you all of the information that is going to help make you the best wide receiver ever – but working with different coaches I’m able to make my game better and better.”
