MATT TAYLOR talked up Exeter’s quality in the final third.

Taylor said: “I thought we were in control for the majority of the game.
“It was a great effort from the boys and there were real moments of quality that have won us the game.”

STAND-IN Port Vale boss Frank Sinclair threw his support behind Scott Brown after his two goalkeeping mistakes.
Brown’s hesitation allowed Elijah Adebayo to roll in the first of his two goals and the keeper also gifted the Saddlers an own goal from David Fitzpatrick’s backpass. Tom Conlon scored Vale’s consolation.
