Hypocrisy on Saudis must end, PM told

BORIS Johnson has been urged to end Britain’s “hypocrisy” over rising arms sales to Saudi Arabia.

An extra £1.4billion of sales have been licensed by the UK, making a total of £6.7billion since the Saudi interventi­on in the Yemen civil war in 2015.

President Joe Biden has already stopped American support for the bombing.

The Government insists it is in talks with Saudi to end one of the world’s worst humanitari­an crises.

But Shadow Foreign Secretary Lisa Nandy said: “Boris Johnson cannot be both arms dealer and peacemaker. It leaves the UK increasing­ly isolated.”
