MOYES BACK IN CREDIT AT LAST

- BY SIMON MULLOCK

IT’S good to see David Moyes doing so well with West Ham – he’s a good man and a great manager, and I couldn’t be happier he’s getting recognised again.

His reputation took a bit of a battering after his Manchester United experience, and it was easy to pile on to him, because of some of the difficult jobs he has taken since then.

But nobody who achieved what he did in keeping

Everton in and around the top six for a decade is a bad manager – quite the opposite.

And his record after United is better than the critics suggest. He kept Sociedad up, and Sunderland was an impossible job.

He took over West Ham in the relegation zone, and kept them up with games to spare.

Now after keeping them up a second time and taking the club to within punching distance of the top four the fans are all over him.

I’m glad to see a good British manager getting credit where it’s deserved. He’s got a good mix at West Ham, some decent players, and they’re now organised and know what their jobs are.

This is a season where sides like West Ham can really challenge for the European places, and I’d like to see

David Moyes get the repair to his reputation he deserves.

ROMELU LUKAKU has been given instructions to prevail in today’s Milan derby – by his mum.

Reports in Belgium say the Inter striker has been told by his mother Adolphine to do whatever it takes to exact revenge on Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the San Siro after the two former Manchester United team-mates fell out spectacularly.

Ibra was accused of telling Lukaku to “go and do your voodoo s**t, you little donkey” and to “go and call your mama” after the two powerhouse forwards clashed during Inter’s Coppa Italia win over bitter neighbours AC Milan last month.

The Swedish striker was shown a red card, while Lukaku was later suspended for improper conduct after inviting his rival for a fight by saying: “You want to talk about my mum? Let’s go inside.”

Today’s game has been billed as ‘the derby of all derbies’ after a huge mural painting of the spat was unveiled close to the stadium shared by both clubs.
