STRIKING IT RICH Richarlison celebrates his goal with Seamus Coleman run on Liverpool turf, the usually dour Ancelotti broke into a huge grin and said: “I’m really happy and pleased for the club and the fans.

“I hope they celebrate because this was a good performance with a lot of fight and spirit.

“The top four? We are fighting for Europe and now we’re in a good position. This kind of performance helps to improve the belief.”

Richarlison’s early strike and Sigurdsson’s late penalty earned the derby spoils and Toffees boss Ancelotti (above) added: “Richarlison is back now because he is scoring goals and playing with a lot of confidence.”

Sixth-placed Liverpool are now 16 points adrift of leaders Manchester City and face a huge fight to qualify for the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp watched his side’s flimsy title defence crumble and said: “I know how important it is. We feel it deep inside.

“We could talk about the football we played — but we lost. And even I don’t want to talk about the football we played now.

“We created an awful lot and in the end we didn’t finish one situation off.

“We have to improve on the finishing stuff and then we will win football games.”

Everton finally buried their Anfield bogey, stretching back to 1999, and defender Seamus Coleman says Ancelotti played a huge role in that.

He said: “When you have a world-class manager in the dugout, you fully believe in these games.

“It means a lot to us all.”

ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta is encouraged by the pushback he is starting to see in the battle with racism.

Gunners stars Eddie Nketiah and Willian have both been subjected to online abuse this week.

Arteta (left) said: “Finally we are seeing some unity from a lot of people from different backgrounds and different industries.

“They’re trying to solve this issue and start to find some points in common as we try to find the right solution.”
