Look up to a supermoon today
THE first “supermoon” of 2021 will be visible late this afternoon, appearing biggest and brightest at 5:48pm British Summer Time, which begins today.
But it may not be too spectacular this year because clouds are forecast. This
March event is known as the Worm Moon because earthworms begin to appear as the soil warms up, attracting birds.
A supermoon is when a full moon coincides with its nearest point of orbit to the Earth. It can appear up to 14% bigger.
