Cash machines are withdrawn

-

The number of visits to cash machines has fallen by 43% in the last year.

People using ATMs to get money out withdrew an average of £84, according to Link, up from £67 in 2019.

But reduced demand due to Covid-19 means there are now 4,000 fewer free ATM machines in operation than this time last year.

■Women with dependent children are seven times more likely to work parttime than men, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Research published by Scottish Widows shows that the average woman in her 20s today will retire with £100,000 less in her pension than her male peers.
