If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your mobile phone for a while, April is the time to get it sorted – especially if you are going to opt for a Sim-only deal and buy the handset outright.

Price comparison site Idealo. co.uk looked into their historic pricing data and found that the average price of a new smartphone across all makes and models on the market is £307 on average in April, compared to £389 on average in November.
