MANN ON THE MOVE
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN is up for grabs this summer as Barcelona urgently seek to raise funds.
The availability of the France striker is being circulated widely.
Barca have a huge £1.2billion deficit and owe money in outstanding fees to a variety of clubs.
Liverpool are among them, still owed £29m of the original £143m fee for Philippe Coutinho.
The La Liga giants are anxious to improve their cash position and 30-year-old Griezmann (above) is an obvious asset they still believe has value in the market.
He was the subject of a £110m move when he swapped Atletico Madrid for the Nou Camp. But now he is likely to be available at half the price. Leagues throughout Europe have been ravaged by the financial fall-out following the pandemic.
While the transfer fee may be slashed in half and the Premier League – the most profitable domestic football competition on the planet – is a potential destination, the striker himself is keen to remain in the Champions League.
Griezmann is still a force, having scored 29 times in the past 18 months, as well as claiming 15 assists.
But his price tag, age and wages will deter all but the elite.
Speculation he will link up with Mauricio Pochettino at PSG appears wide of the mark.
