Mart’s fee hike blow for Arteta
ARSENAL fear Martin Odegaard’s transfer price will rocket to £50million this summer.
Real Madrid already valued Odegaard at £30m when letting him join Arsenal on loan for the rest of the campaign in January.
The Spanish champions refused to include any option for the Premier League club to buy him outright with Odegaard’s impressive performances pushing his potential fee up all the time.
That could seriously scupper Mikel Arteta’s chances of securing his services permanently.
The Gunners know they will have to fend off interest from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool as well as Paris SaintGermain.
Of course, Real Madrid may well decide he does have a long-term future at the Bernabeu, after all.
Odegaard hobbled off in Norway’s World Cup qualifier win against Gibraltar on Wednesday but his national boss Stale Solbakken said the ankle injury is ‘not too serious’.
