Hung out to dry… by my little monkey

As a family, we’re fiercely competitive. We’ll turn everything into a contest, whether it’s how much popcorn you can stuff into your mouth or who can stare each other out the longest without blinking.

The latest challenge involves going to our local park and seeing who can hang off the monkey bars the longest. It’s simple, but so much fun. Hanging on requires a lot of strength and determination.

My 10-year-old daughter Amara set the record at four minutes, 10 seconds.

I, on the other hand, could manage only 47 seconds.

Think I’ll stick to the eating contests in future…
