Big-money Times with punters set to back Rachael on Minella
BOOKIES are bracing themselves for a public gamble on Minella Times.
The coin will roll in after JP McManus’s eight-year-old was yesterday confirmed as Rachael Blackmore’s Randox
Grand National mount. “We are 14-1 about Minella Times,” said Ladbrokes’ Jon Lees.
“But once the news that Rachael Blackmore will ride filters through, we don’t expect that to last.
“She broke new ground at
Cheltenham last month, winning the top jockey award for the meeting with six winners – among them the Champion Hurdle.
“She will be confident going into the meeting at Aintree.
“And that confidence is sure to be shared by the nation’s punters.”
McManus’s racing manager Frank Berry said: “It’s a week away but, all being well,
Mark Walsh will be on Any Second Now, and Rachael on Minella Times.”
