Coma dad’s family call on police to act

THE daughter of a man attacked by a gang has called on police to crack down on thugs.

Care home worker Alan Willson, 46, has been in a coma since Easter Sunday, when he tried to save his 11-year-old son from a group of yobs in a park.

He is now on a ventilator being treated for spinal fractures, lung trauma and broken bones.

Mr Willson’s daughter Becky, 25, has backed a petition demanding police get tough on criminals in Worthing, West Sussex.

She said: “No one should be subjected to such violence. These abusers have become lawless. There are many victims.”

A JustGiving page set up for Mr Willson and his family has so far raised around £35,000.
