Labour: Block foam firm deals

LABOUR has called for a cladding firm to be blocked from new public contracts.

Kingspan’s K15 foam board insulation was used on a small area at Grenfell.

The Grenfell Inquiry has heard of “inaccuracies” in K15 fire tests – and that two staff joked about lying over safety. Kingspan – which did not know K15 was used at Grenfell – has since assisted large scale tests on buildings.

It has “committed to acting swiftly”, is providing technical help to engineers and “remediation where appropriate”.

A spokesman declined to comment.
