Road safety vow for home hit by 10 cars
COUNCILLORS have rallied behind a woman whose home has been hit 10 times by drivers.
Ellen Keightley, 80, had to live in a caravan after a drunk driver smashed into her kitchen in August.
The crash followed a string of incidents when Mrs Keightley’s garden wall was flattened.
The house, where she has lived for 60 years, is on a sharp bend in Caldecott, Rutland, north of Corby.
Margaret Bennett of Caldecott Parish Council said: “What’s happened to Ellen over the years has been desperate for her.”
Rutland County Council said it had approved an anti-skid surface and better signs for the road.
